The creature was never found conclusively. There is only a story and photographs blurred questionable authenticity. But why do myths and legends about the great ape-like creature that is present deep in different cultures?
Big hairy creature that walked like a man that was mentioned hiding in the forests or areas that are difficult of our reach. In North America they are called Bigfoot or Sasquatch. In Asia, especially the Himalayan region, they are known as Yeti or the terrible snowman. In South America, the Amazon region, there are as Mapinguari, was his nickname is the Yowie in Australia.
Is it true that there are creatures in the real world? An old Sherpa in the Himalayas once said, "Yeti exists behind all human minds, only those who are blessed are not haunted by the creature."
There or not, obviously many cultures have stories about the hairy man. The appearance of them in North America and Asia have been discussed since the early 1800's. Despite a lot of stories, photos, and their footprints, but so far there has never been scientific evidence that they exist. Never found droppings, bones, and his body, alive or dead.
The report on the bigfoot is the first documented traces found in a Canadian trader in 1811. Name bigfoot (big feet) and then widely known after the media reports about the large footprints found in Bluff Creek, California, in 1959. While most famous bigfoot photo taken in 1967 though still debated its authenticity.
Recently, though bigfoot seekers get new hope when the bigfoot hair found in the Yukon Teslin residents. They claim to find the hair around a large footprints left by 3-meter-tall creature, like humans, are seen in their backyard earlier this month.
The geneticist from the University of Alberta and the hair DNA test to find out who the owner. The researchers suspect the hair actually came from a bear or bison which are common in the Yukon. However, when found it was something new, we may be getting close to mystery of bigfoot disclosure. The results of these studies was announced last week.
But that's whoa. Whatever the results of research the University of Alberta, bigfoot myth of scientific fact seems to not need to always attract people's attention.
Myth or real?
Bigfoot is something real for those who claimed to have seen it. But opinion is divided in two. Some people believe in bigfoot as flesh blooded creatures, while others - including indigenous tribes in America - believe the spirits who manifest themselves to humans in times of distress.
Ralph Gray Wolf, a member of Athapaska Indian tribes from Alaska, said, Sasquatch appeared to help groups that are having problems. They bring the message the need for a change.
The same was found in England, linked to the legend that has been heard since the centuries. Two years ago some researchers conducted an expedition to Bolam Lake, near Newcastle. They trace the appearance of creatures big and dark touted since the 18 months previous. On a day in the lush banks of the lake, six people from the group finally saw what they called the Beast of Bolam.
"What they see is not a bigfoot or Sasquatch. He is a blurred figure in the trees, and more like ghosts than fleshy creatures. Moreover, if the creature's fleshy, English is not a suitable place for them, "said Richard Freeman, of the Centre for Fortean Zoology, one of his friends who witnessed these sightings.
That makes sure, the legends of bigfoot - also the Big Grey Man of Ben MacDhui in Scotland and King of the Grey in Wales - is actually the paranormal creatures."They're not a ghost or soul of a dead creature. I think they are more complex than that. "
In his journey as a professional monster hunter, Freeman has traveled all over the world collecting stories and clues about the mysterious creatures. He found in many cultures, there are types of creatures that always appear. He calls it as a general model of international monster, which include a giant dragon and other reptiles, creatures great apes such as Sasquatch and Yeti, tiny people like short people and dwarfs, giant birds, as well as dog and cat imitation.
"Maybe these monsters are similar to creatures that our ancestors encountered. The perception that the ancestors of the creatures left in our minds. Well, in certain circumstances, the creature seemed to appear in front of us. "
"Being in mind the fact that often arise. If we believe in the existence of something, then what we see often manifests as what we believe, "said Freeman.
For example, in experiments in Loch Ness, the researchers float a piece of wood in the known inhabited lake monster. Wood placed late afternoon when a group of tourists visiting. As a result, most visitors sure have seen Nessie, the inhabitants of the lake!
Those people seem to already have a conviction about the existence of monsters, making it easy for them to say, "I saw Nessie, or bigfoot, or the Yeti," when they see something.
Now, about the recent Sasquatch sightings in the Yukon, the results of laboratory studies showed that the feathers left by the monster turns out to be bison fur. But like previous events, stories and bigfoot sightings expected to continue to appear. The search will continue. And the truth about its existence will remain stored in their eyes have ever seen.
