This remarkable photograph is a photograph of a mysterious pillar of light that leads to the skies above the town of Sigulda, Latvia. This photo was taken by Aigar Truhins with a standard digital camera. This photo finally got tremendous response from amateur astronomers in cyberspace.
Truhins said, "My son said, Alien was heading for earth!"
"At least it looks like that." He added.
But experts have a more scientific explanation - ice crystals in the air. The air above the city is cold and filled with ice crystals that are trapped.
Pillars of light was believed to form from the bright street lights and reflected in the air filled with ice Kristel.
The sky in all of Europe has been met with this phenomenon since the cold climate that swept the country.
Scientists at spaceweather.com website said: "Pillar Truhin not the usual kind, even the leading experts can not explain with certainty. Pilar was indeed mysterious, the pillars that have peaks that form the curve and even a semicircle at the bottom."
