Dr.Cook admitted to get evidence from police and doctors at that time expressed doubts about the theory of a serial killer. A police officer Whitechapel at the time of the murder stated that he did not believe Mary Kelly was killed by Jack the Ripper.
Assistant police who autopsied the body of the fifth, Percy Clark told the East London Observer newspaper in 1910, "I think maybe one killer is responsible for the deaths of 3 people from them.
